When the widget is not able to load the image from Instagram (or Facebook, Twitter and YouTube), we display a placeholder image in its place to prevent an empty space from showing where the widget should be.
There could be many reasons why the widget is not able to load the image:
Your browser has an extension installed that blocks content from Instagram or Facebook from being displayed outside of these networks. For example the Facebook Container extension in FireFox does this.
The image was recently removed from Instagram.
Your network is blocking Instagram and Facebook content from being displayed.
The access token for your widget has expired and needs to be updated.
