Adding your Instagram, Facebook or Twitter widget to your HTML website is easy. Follow these steps to create your widget and once you've created your widget, follow the appropriate steps below to add it to your website.
We have a lot of tutorials regarding adding your widget to CMS, Blogs and E-Commerce websites which are all created by using specific builders. To add your widget to these sites, it must be done via the way these builders allow you to do it.
Adding it to any other HTML based website is different, allowing you to add it wherever you want to place your widget.
The SnapWidget code snippet contains all the CSS and JavaScript code in the form of links to the files stored on the SnapWidget servers. This means that you will always have the latest updated content linked to your HTML site.
To enable you to add the snippet to your website you will need access to the files containing the website structure either by direct access to the webserver via SSH or Remote Desktop or you could also do it via an FTP connection if it has been set up on the webserver.
1. Determine the page where you would like the widget to display
If you'd like to display your Instagram photos on your homepage, you will need to edit the main page of your site. This will most likely be called index.html.
2. Edit the HTML of your page
Open the .html file you need to edit in a code editor.
Paste the code snippet you generated in SnapWidget into the .html file where you would like the widget to display.
3. Save (and upload if needed) the .html file you just edited
You should now have your Instagram feed displaying on your website.
